Save A Life!

I have not posted a blog for a couple weeks, and the last couple where a bit on the edge so I wanted to post on another topic that is important, and can make a difference, but won't draw as much conflict.

The majority of people love pets, and animals. I myself being one who really loves animals. I grew up with all kinds of large dogs from St. Bernards, and Rotts to Mastiffs. I have always been a large dog person. Though I truly hadn't owned a dog in years. Being used to big dogs it was interesting with my wife having two Chi Chi's. I had more then a few close calls with tripping on them or almost sitting on them. I still am not used to dogs that small. My wife knew that I really had wanted my own dog for some time. So as a wedding/Father's Day gift my wife got me a dog. Which we are also working with to train as a seizure alert dog.

The dog we got came from the local shelter. I will say that getting a pet from a shelter or rescue group is one of the greatest things you can do, and you are giving that pet a second chance. There are a lot of abused, and abandoned animals out there, and if you are wanting a true pure bred there are hundreds of rescue groups for each breed type out there. Rescuing a pet is a great thing. The dog I ended up getting is a black lab mix that I named Jackson (after Jackson guitars lol). He is a black lab mix. Though we aren't sure with what because he looks like a smaller black lab, but with a really curly tail.
