Another Week Gone By

Wow! Another week has flown by already. This week has been pretty intense with getting tracks done. I have been hitting the studio a lot for the new wedding album, and a remix I did for Damian Channel. I took a real creep feel on that remix, and I can say that it is one of my darkest remixes ever. Kept it simple, but with a horror movie feel. The tracks should be up in the next couple of days.

Now on to the wedding album. The album is releasing Jan 31st, and I cannot wait. Hopefully some of you use it at your weddings next year, and will send me some video of it. I decided to remix wedding music for a couple reasons. One was I figured it would be fun, and another is sometimes the wedding pieces that are traditionally played can be very gloomy feeling. A wedding isn't something that's gloomy. It's a time of happiness, energy, and fun. Some people might be bothered, and think I am messing with tradition by remixing these songs, but it is to bring new life to them. Would you rather have your bride walk to the alter with a slow piano playing or as you leave the alter a slow piano plays The Wedding March? Would you rather have a steady kick thumping with dancing bass lines, and hands in the air synths? Weddings are about happiness, joy, and fun. If you are getting married, and the feeling in the air of your wedding is nothing, but a gloomy sad aura then something is aloof. When you vow life long love to someone you should be excited, and happy not sad and depressed. I remember when my wife, and I got married last year. I was happy, and excited. I couldn't wait, and the day was amazing. I can't even explain the emotions I had that day. You should feel that way on your wedding day. You should be outside yourself with joy. The music during the ceremony should reflect that.. My good friend Josh played the piano for our wedding, and he spiced it up. So I am spicing it up for other people. I'm keeping it short, and sweet today. Never give in, never give up.
